"METAL WORKS" - FASHION FILM (16MM)

during this shoot i got to experiment with some vintage c-mount lenses including a century 3.5mm F1.9 and a kern vario-switar 16-100 F1.9

just as many lenses perform at their worst wide open i learned the century 3.5mm F1.9 suffers the most from this generalization… having shot with that lens wide open and having maintained its fixed focus range i noticed many of the takes we’re slightly soft

the kern vario-switar 16-100 F1.9 performed super well and its razor sharp when stopped down to a F2.8 with the only downside being that it isn’t parfocal (or at least my copy of the lens isn't fully parfocal)
